Be that person

Maslow defines the top of the pyramid of human motivation as "self actualization", or in other words , being centered in the desire to be the most that you can be... but what is the most that we can be?

The answer to that question varies depending on who you are asking, but if you ask me , a great part of being our best version depends on if we are the best person to others.

And what does it mean to be the best person to others? this is a question I often ask myself and I decided to share what I personally think defines if we are that person.

Be that person, the one that always calls loved ones just to see how they are, for no other reason than just to see how their day went and to check on them.

Be the one with whom people can feel confortable being their true self and  with whom they feel like they can give their honest thought about anything because they are not going to be judged.

Be the one whose word holds true value, the one that people know that when you give your word it means something and that you are going to stand by it.

Be the one that is not going to force anything on anyone , the one that always listens first because you truly want to understand others and not just listens to answer back or just because you are searching for counterarguments to validate your opinion.

Be the one whose company feels to others like a warm embrace in turbulent and cold times in life.

Be the one that helps just because you trully want to help, not because you expect something in return, do it for the lone pourpose of helping.

Be the one that is always there for your loved ones and for anyone thats needs it.

Be the one that makes their partner feel safe in a world where it feels like there is no safe place for the heart.

And by being that person to others , I truly believe that we achieved being the best version of ourselves. So if I could give you any advice , it would be the same advice I give myself everyday, as long as you live , always try to be that person.
